Some people might think that stuffed toys and bears are just for children. But the truth is, they can mean so much more to people of all ages. For some, they may remind them of a loved one who is no longer with them. For others, they may simply be a source of comfort and happiness.

No matter what they mean to you, one thing is for sure – stuffed toys and bears can bring a lot of joy into your life. So if you ever need a little pick-me-up, don’t be afraid to reach for your favorite stuffed animal. They’re always there to give you a big hug!

This 23-year-old male on Reddit dumped his girlfriend when he discovered she'd thrown out the stuffed bear his grandmother gave him when he was young.

I (M23) have old teddy that I got from my grandmother when I was young. She has since died and this is the only item that I have from her.

Teddy sits on a cabinet that is next to the bed so he is always looking down on us. It's symbolic for me as it makes me feel like my gran is always looking out for me.

My girlfriend has always teased me about Teddy but I never minded. I understand how it's not usual for a grown adult to keep stuffed animals in their room.

I came back and found Teddy missing. I looked everywhere but I knew that he wouldn't have moved on his own. When I asked my her she said that she threw him out while she was cleaning up because I am too old to own toys. She also found it weird that he was just always there looking at us while we slept.

I admit that I probably overreacted but I told her to leave and not come back unless she had Teddy with her. She went to her mom's and has not come back so Teddy is gone for good.

It feels as if I have lost my grandmother all over again, I am so heartbroken.

She knows very well about Teddy's history. She made sure I knew that she thought I was being childish.

The poor guy looked in the closest trash cans but unfortunately didn't find the teddy.

I am 58 and have my stuffed dog, Puddles, on my bed. Your gf has absolutely no respect for you or the memories of your gran. Kick her to the curb.

I’m in my mid 40’s and I have my childhood teddy bear on display in our bedroom. My wife would never even consider throwing it away because she has personality traits like respect and compassion.

Imagine having the audacity to throw an entirely harmless possession of someone elses just because you have a preconcieved view of what someone should and shouldn't have at what age. It doesn't matter if she knew the history and sentimental worth behind the bear. It wasn't hers to throw away, and she knew that you would want to keep it, which is why she didn't ask and waited until you were gone before she threw it away. That makes it a breach of trust as well as just an all round shitty move.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where someone tries to throw away one of your cherished belongings, don't hesitate to stand up for yourself. Whether it's a stuffed animal, a bear, or any other item that holds sentimental value to you, it's worth fighting for. After all, these things are a part of your life and history and deserve to be respected.
