The troughs and peaks of fathering a daughter are numerous. It’s not always easy to navigate geography, but it’s always rewarding. Compromise is a part of life. It’s all about giving and taking. Push and pull at the same time. You say “yes,” but she says “no.” You say ‘right now,’ and she answers ‘never.’ It’s a delicate balance, but it’s one that fathers must constantly adjust. Especially when their little girls turn into teenagers, that’s when things start to change. The relationship dynamics undergo a metamorphosis, and fathers are forced to adapt. To morph into something new. Into someone they never thought they would be.
Little girls should always feel safe and cherished by their fathers, but some fathers go above and beyond to be the best friend a young girl could ever have.
