What would it be like to hang out with your younger self? Some celebrities got to do just that with the amazing photoshop skills of Dutch graphic designer Ard Gelinck, and the pictures show how they have changed with time.
With wrinkles and gray hair, some of these celebs look very different from when they were young. But even though they’ve aged, they still seem to have a lot of fun!
If you forget that even celebrities can’t escape the passage of time, this is for you. The designer created side-by-side photoshops to show how much things have changed over the decades. Whether it be their hair or face – we’re always changing, and so are they (even if on-screen).
For about ten years, artist Ard has been posting photos online. In this recent interview, he discussed the challenge of creating certain series like his “then & now” celebrity portraits that were met by much criticism but also turned out beautifully in hindsight.
Even after Ard’s photos went viral, the man stayed humble. “I was pleasantly surprised when it was picked up by various media worldwide at the start of this year. And indeed, I got a lot of followers. And still counting. Very nice. Nice to see that you can entertain people and show something that makes them laugh and think,” says the graphic designer.
The photoshop artist says that he randomly chooses celebrities for his side-by-side comparisons, but sometimes specific ones were chosen because their birthday was coming up. So far, the photo series includes hundreds of celebrity images, including Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, and Robert Downey Jr, among others—and by looking at it, you can tell this guy doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon! He even made a “then & now” shot featuring himself in both stages.
