On Tuesday, Zac Efron made his first red carpet appearance in three years at the opening of his most recent film, The Greatest Beer Run Ever.
A week after addressing speculation that he had undergone facial plastic surgery, the 34-year-old actor Zac Efron looked sharp in a grey suit, black polo shirt, and black shoes at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
He moved to Australia for most of the pandemic and maintained a low profile by residing near Byron Bay and working on different motion picture and television projects.
Despite this, Efron continued to garner media attention during his absence from Hollywood thanks to a temporary relationship with Byron Bay waitress Vanessa Valladeres, and later pictures that revealed his dramatically altered appearance. Fans began to speculate that the actor had undergone cosmetic surgery.
The actor clarified that he had slipped and hit the corner of a fountain before passing out. he 'nearly died' after shattering his jaw and smashing his chin before undergoing surgery to restore his facial structure.
His "chin bone" was "hanging off" his face, he said in an interview with Men’s Health.
He teamed up with a physical therapist to help with his "really big" facial muscles while recovering from the accident.
He added, "The masseters just grew." They simply grew extremely large.
Zac first heard about the Internet rumors from his mother, Starla, but they didn't deter him.
"I absolutely wouldn't be able to undertake this work if I appreciated what other people thought of me to the amount that they may think I do," he added.
