Looking at these sculptures, you would never believe that humans made them.

Russian artist Evgeny Hontor creates miniature animal sculptures that look alive – and the detail is incredible. Each sculpture is incredibly lifelike, from the fur on their backs to the feathers on their wings. Even more impressive is that Evgeny makes all of her sculptures without using any reference material – she imagines how the animal would look and then sculpts it accordingly.

If you need inspiration, check out her work – you won’t be disappointed.

I’m sure you know that Russia is a cold place to live, but did you also know that some Russian artists use this as inspiration for their work? One such artist is Elena Ivanova. She spends her time carving miniature animal sculptures from ice, and these pieces of art look like they were carved from the real thing – so much so it’s hard to tell them apart! Which one do you feel is more alive?
